About
Everyone has a story to tell.
Everyone has a story to still write.
Everyone's story is developing.
Leslie Wiss, LPC
Founder & Therapist, Still and Strong LLC
After more than a decade leading trauma-informed initiatives in the nonprofit sector, I felt a deep pull to create something more personal—and more expansive. That calling became Still & Strong, a practice built on the belief that healing happens best through presence, partnership, and purposeful change. I support individuals, families, clinicians, and organizations in finding sustainable growth from the inside out. Whether through therapy, consultation, or teaching, my work is grounded in compassion, neuroscience, and the belief that even in life’s hardest seasons, healing and inner peace are possible.
Still & Strong exists for anyone who’s had to be strong for too long and is ready to find stillness in the storm.
Experience & Leadership
With over a decade of experience in behavioral health leadership, I bring a rare blend of clinical depth, strategic leadership and compassionate presence. My background includes shaping clinical policies and training, guiding multi-disciplinary projects, and overseeing agency wide certifications— always with a focus on improving the lives of children and families.
Prior to the leadership role, I worked as a therapist in a private, non-profit, special education school. I am a graduate of Maryville University, with a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, and currently teach as an adjunct professor in the psychology department.

The Heart Behind the Work
Still & Strong is deeply rooted in my own story—one shaped by early grief, profound loss, and the quiet resilience required to grow up without consistent stability. As a first-generation college student, I learned responsibility early and became determined to break cycles of poverty, substance use, and disrupted attachment. Those experiences shaped not only who I am, but how I show up in this work: with empathy, honesty, steadiness, and hope. I know firsthand that the right support can change everything, and it’s an honor to help others reconnect with their strength, rewrite their story, and move toward healing.
Outside the Therapy Room
When I’m not in session, you’ll find me cycling, playing volleyball, traveling, caring for my plants and enjoying time with friends. Best of all, I love cheering on my nephew’s baseball team and coaching my nieces softball team. The simple joys keep me grounded, inspired, and connected to what matters most!
